Lansdowne Children's Centre
King & Benton provided a $2 million dollar donation towards a new, state-of-the-art children’s facility, which will stand as a beacon of hope, inclusion, and possibility for infants, children and youth with communication, physical and developmental challenges, and the families that support them.
Brantford YMCA
The Clarence Street site was the former location of Work Wear Industries. As a brownfield site it was heavily contaminated with trichloroethylene (TCE) due to its use as a dry-cleaning facility. Recognizing its potential to become the new location for The Brantford Family YMCA, King & Benton completed the remediation and removal of contaminated soil and the stripping of the building’s interior. To create this thriving community space, a total redesign followed, resulting in the construction of a fitness centre and gymnasium, a childcare facility, locker and changing rooms, and administrative areas, along with 81 parking spaces including drop off and pick up areas.
Only four months after construction began, King & Benton donated the completed project to The Brantford Family YMCA, resulting in a one-of-a-kind charitable venture.
